Right after High School, I joined the Marine Corps. I was proud of my service to my Country, post Vietnam. I unfortunately became involved in drug and alcohol abuse, while in the service. In 2009, I reached the end of my rope and tried to end it all. Fortunately, I failed at my suicide attempt and was able to make amends to my father, Earl L.Turner class of 1953. He passed away on December 31, 2009, and since January 3, 2010, I am proud to say I am clean and sober, enjoying life again and want to reunite with all my classmates from Normandy High School! I am happy to say that I have reached another milestone in my sobriety. On September 29,2012 I celebrated my 1000th day of sobriety! My profile is still the same, I am clean and sober for 1188 days as of Easter Sunday, March 21, 2013.

My favorite school story has to do with Kerry Turner , who was Student Council President in 1973-74. The Courier ran the headline "Turner win President race." I showed that to anyone who would look at as if I won the Presidency. My father told me, "It must be a misprint". During that year, Coach Dave Ellis asked me if I was related to Pat Turner, one of the stars of our State Championship Soccer team of 1973. I told Coach Ellis no, (the truth), but our folks may had come over together on the Mayflower.
