After graduating in 1967 I married Bill Schneider (a Ritenour grad!) and we raised two sons in Florissant. I deferred my college education till the kids were older, but kept very busy volunteering with their activities in school and sports.Because of these experiences with the kids I decided to major in Elem Education.I then taught in Hazelwood School District for twenty-two years at Lawson Elementary. For fifteen of those years I taught third grade, which I considered the best age group with which to work. As I approached retirement I began following my passion for history, especially local history which led me to volunteering as an historical interpreter, as a docent, and as an historical re-enactor. I completed my MA in American Studies at Lindenwood. Since retiring in May of 2008 I've worked a variety of volunteer hours, including Boone Home, Heald House, and MO History Museum. I am now employed as the Docent Educator at the MO Historical Society. I've always been extremely proud of the education I received at Normandy, and grateful for the many early experiences there through Orchesis, Pep Club, cheerleading, Student Council, and Service Workers.
