Returned after 10 years to complete my BA in English, then to graduate school for an MA in Health Administration & Marketing, worked first in (mis)managed care, then as a freelance writer, and now as grant writer for a non-profit agency in the Northwest, raising my daughters, trying to bring about a Single-Payer Health Program, hiking, time with friends and family, and what I love to do most -writing - I've published a memoir and at work on a novel about health care.

School Story:

Miss Goff set me on the path to do what I love - the amazing world of literature and my own commercial and creative writing career. Mr. Masterson, aside from having a major crush on him until I saw his beautiful wife, developed my curiosity about the world. From that I have traveled and worked in Kenya and Cuba, hiked in the UK for a month several years ago, and love learning about the world first hand.

Hello everyone. Excited to announce that I have a new memoir coming out April 6, 2021. Much of the first chapters are about growing up in Normandy. I hope you'll read more about it at Barbaraclarke.net and subscribe to my blog there. Photos below - my grown daughters, my mom at age 97, and the memoir cover. My best to all of you and hope to see you next spring - masked or unmasked - either way will have an event in St. Louis.
