Melanie Gamble was both an alumni and a high school teacher. She lived in Pine Lawn. She taught PE and health at high school back in the late 70's. She died in the early 80s. Her father still lives in the district and is active in fundraising.

Ms Sams was my health teacher and when I graduated in 1983 I received a scholarship in her honor/memory which helped me to attend and graduate from nursing school. I have been nursing at hospitals (St Louis and Tucson) since 1986.
