JASON HOLMES SR., past president of the Normandy Teachers' Association and a Teacher of the Year award winner, died October 10, 2008 at the age of 85. He had been an alderman in Vinita Park, a commander of American Legion Post 212 and a member of Post 338. The husband of Dorothy Goff Holmes, he was the beloved father and grandfather of a large family.
