After graduation I was in the USMC for 82 days and when I was released from service I went to work for my father. In 1966, we started S&R Auto Parts which grew to five stores. I sold them in 1988. I then went to work for the Murray Corp. as a factory representative selling A/C parts to the Napa stores in Central & Southern ILL. & eastern Missouri. Eventually I worked for Moog Corp., Cooper Mfg. and the Gates Rubber Co. retiring from Gates in 2011.
